Since this is the first poll, we have not had a lot of responses. I have left the poll open for those who may still want to add their inputs (click here for the poll). I am not sure how to interpret the results, but it appears that half the respondents file new papers in the front of the folder and a little over a quarter at the back. This means that nearly a quarter do not file or file in some other order.
Applying my amateur psychologist license, I would say that the majority like to see the newest papers at the top when they open a folder since this makes it easier to review when the folder is open. Filing the newest papers at the back makes sense also, especially if the file is a chronological record. As for the others, I don’t know what to make of this. Hopefully, we will get more votes in the future and can revisit this analysis.
